The Story

dvcCast! is the killer app for publishing content on the internet.

Once upon a time…

In the mid-90’s, we became known for being pioneers in video compression for the internet. We compressed the first video for MTV’s website, and got the top brass at Canon interested in web video (we still encode the video on Canon’s website, like this movie).

In 1999, DVcreators.net started training companies how to shoot, edit, and encode video for the internet, including Apple, Chiat/Day, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Pixar, CNN, most networks and cable channels, most of the Fortune 1000, and most major ad agencies, along with tens of thousands of other organizations and producers in 60 countries around the world. We’re very proud of the leadership role DVcreators.net has played in getting so many people and organizations started with video on the web.

The Problem.

Although we may be among the world’s top web video experts, we’ve never really been super happy with any of the software tools we’ve used.

Have you ever been working on an encoding job with a combination of slow, clumsy programs, and thought, “Sheesh! There’s gotta be a better way to do this!”

So have we. All the time! Over the years, we’ve tried most every popular software package on the market in various combinations, but we’ve always been frustrated with them.

The Dream.

We began to dream of streamlined, powerful, elegantly-designed software that makes publishing video and images to the internet much simpler, much faster, much easier, and even higher quality.

We wanted an instant solution, so we could publish media in just a few clicks. We wanted features and streamlined workflows no existing software had. We wanted our remote server to feel like it was right on our desktop.

The dream becomes reality.

Since we started DVcreators Labs, our software division, we just couldn’t resist trying to create the perfect content publishing solution. As the software took shape, we started using it in our daily work and refining it until it became absolutely indispensable.

Did we succeed?

During the last year and a half of development, we’ve been constantly asking questions like:

“Will it really be the breakthrough product we want it to be?”

“Will it be one of the most essential tools in any media producer’s toolbox?”

“Will it truly be the one killer publishing app that transforms the user’s experience and makes more of a huge positive impact on the quality of their work and workflow than most any other program they own?”

“Can we make it so amazingly cool that anyone who publishes media on the web or in a video podcast would see its value instantly?”

I hope you’ll download the free trial and find we succeeded in answering all these questions in the affirmative.
